About the author: Gráinne Quinn, Barrister-at-Law

Gráinne Quinn is a practising barrister in Dublin and on the Western Circuit. She has a general practice specialising in employment law appearing regularly before WRC Adjudicators, the Labour Court and the former Employment Appeals Tribunal. Gráinne has also appeared in front of the Circuit Court and High Court in relation to equality matters, and bullying and harassment cases. She regularly advices employers in respect of investigations and employment policies. Gráinne also has extensive experience in the areas of inter alia, landlord and tenant law, family law and tort. She is an adjudicator for the Residential Tenancies Board. Gráinne has published articles both for Bloomsbury Professional and Irish Law Times, previously writing the Criminal Law updates for BPrO’s Criminal Law Service.

Gráinne was called to the Bar in 2012 having graduated from the Honourable Society of King’s Inns. She received her undergraduate law degree from the University of Limerick in Law and European Studies, completing a thesis entitled ‘The History, Development and Future of The Right to Silence’.
